Being a mother is learning about strengths you didn’t know you had,
and dealing with fears you didn’t know existed.” -Linda Wooten
In light of Mother’s Day we had decided to gather up several moms with very different stories;
not knowing what we’d find or who we’d meet.
What we discovered is something we guess we already knew…
A “Mother” is one who despite the challenges motherhood brings, uses skills and abilities they didn’t know they had; regardless of how that child came to them, to love that child with every fiber of her being, at any age.
So today; we honor all new moms and moms-to-be as this is their very first Mother’s Day and are now experiencing the immense love you can only feel for your child.
We honor all grandmas who have "done their time" and yet continue being concerned, not just for their own children, even through adulthood; but now, for their children's children.
We honor the moms of their 2nd... 5th... 9th+ child because every time is a new time and worthy of celebration.
We honor moms who have lost, because they too feel the overwhelming desire to love their child forever,
even when they're no longer physically present.
We honor aunts, stepmoms and adoptive moms who play such huge parts in the lives of children who aren't biologically their own; yet their hearts see no different.
We honor ALL people who love a child with all their might.
Because "Mother's Day" is not just about females who have physically birthed a child; we see it more appropriately as a celebration for an individual who raises; or helps raise,
a child with unconditional love, care and affection.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Loudoun Ladies want to extend a HUGE Thank You to those who collaborated to make this happen!
This wouldn't have been possible without your help!!
